The Unity Fire Pit in Corten Steel is a living work of art — its signature weathered patina deepens and evolves over time, developing a rich, rust-toned surface that is both protective and breathtakingly beautiful. Handcrafted in the USA by The Outdoor Plus, the Corten Unity is the preferred choice of architects and landscape designers who want a fire feature that becomes more distinctive with every season.
COR-TEN® Steel is an alloy engineered to form a stable, self-protecting oxide layer that eliminates the need for painting or sealing. Please note: the natural patina may bleed onto the surface beneath — a stone or concrete pad is recommended.

About Corten Steel
Corten steel is prized in architecture and design precisely because it doesn't stay the same. Exposed to the elements, it develops a natural protective oxide layer — what begins as a bright, warm rust-orange finish gradually deepens through richer copper and umber tones, eventually settling into a deep, weathered brown-black patina over years of exposure. This isn't a flaw; it's the material protecting itself, and it's the reason designers reach for Corten in the first place.
Because that patina develops in response to your specific climate and exposure, no two Corten pieces age identically — yours will look different a year from now than it does on arrival, and different from anyone else's. Expect visible color change within the first weeks and months, continuing to evolve gradually for years afterward.
Highly durable, naturally low-maintenance, and increasingly distinctive with age. Note that this intended weathering is considered normal wear and is not covered under the manufacturer's warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will the Corten Steel stain my patio?
Yes — the natural patina may bleed onto the surface beneath. A stone, concrete, or gravel pad is recommended. This characteristic is part of the material's natural beauty.
Does the 24" tall version include hidden propane tank storage?
Yes — the 24" tall Unity includes an access door for a hidden propane tank. The tank is not included.
Can I cancel or change my order?
Within 24 hours, yes — free, any reason, full refund. We hold every order a full 24 hours before releasing it to the manufacturer so this window is real. After that your size, finish, and ignition are locked into production and the order cannot be cancelled or returned.
How long until it arrives?
The Unity is made to order. Production takes 2–4 weeks, followed by 1–2 weeks of freight transit — approximately 3–6 weeks total from order to delivery. Ships via LTL Freight with curbside delivery to the contiguous USA.
Will the color change over time?
Yes. Corten steel develops a natural patina that deepens from bright rust-orange toward a dark weathered brown-black over months and years of outdoor exposure. This is expected and is not a defect — it's the material's defining characteristic.
